If you’re like me and tired of seeing the word “snap” in your snapchat app, then today is your lucky day. I recently found out that there’s actually a way to change this and it’s probably one of the most simple yet helpful Snapchat hacks for android users.
This may not work on iPhone because they make different apps for android and iPhone users. I also have an iPhone myself, but since almost all of my friends are on Android I always end up downloading their version of the app.
How to half open a snap
The way you can change this is by going to the Apple store and download any other messaging app. I know this sounds stupid but if you have never downloaded a 3rd party app before then I’m going to show you how it’s done. The best one that actually works with Snapchat is Kik Messenger. Once you have Kik installed on your phone then all you have to do is go into settings, hit the option that says “Default SMS App” and select Kik from the list.
Now that Kik has been set as the default texting app you can log into your snapchat account through it and it will ask if you want to change the text. I’m not really sure why this works but for some reason Snapchat doesn’t let you change the text if it was sent from its own app.
In order to make your text yellow again, you’re going to want to go into the actual Kik app and set your preferences. I didn’t know this but when you install Kik, it gives you the option of changing the default color of the writing bubble in that application only or all messaging apps.
Type in what you want to say and press send
Type in what you want to say and press send, then open up your Snapchat app and see if it looks any different.
If you don’t want to download another messaging app or this doesn’t work for you, there’s one last option of either jail breaking your phone or rooting it. I’m not going to go into detail about them because they’re more complicated but feel free to google how to do that.
If you want to create your own snap filters
This hack I found is only for Android, so if you have an iPhone then unfortunately this trick won’t work for you. Snapchat introduced “snapchat filters” at the beginning of 2015 and you can create your own by going into the settings, then pressing “manage” under snapchat story.
Scroll down to where it says custom and press that. Then tap on “your story,” this will take you to a different page and you’re going to see where it says location. From here just search for whatever city you are currently in and it will automatically apply that specific filter to your snapchat account.
If you want to save your snapchat score
If you want to save your snapchat score then it is very easy, all you have to do is go into settings and turn off automatic login. After that your account will be saved in that browser forever until you delete it manually.
