Bloodborne Old Yharnam Guide
Anyone who wants to get through the Old Yharnam area in one piece. I’ll be explaining how to survive, what items are worth picking up, where you should go and more. Before we start here is some general information:
Heading to the next lamp will place you right in front of a boss fight so if your goal is to get there and back with everything you need I’d recommend leaving the lamp right where it is without touching it. This will allow you to pick up loot, level up and do whatever else before heading into battle. If your goal isn’t to kill the boss but rather clear the area of monsters I’d suggest doing this after killing it as their drops will be on the floor waiting to be picked up.
bloodborne how to get to old yharnam
Old Yharnam is one of three areas in Bloodborne. It’s the area which you’ll reach by travelling through Old Bone Giant. There are several lamps inside Old Yharnam so it may be wise to explore them all to find out for yourself where they are, which ones are closest to each other and how to unlock them.
The populated area features a large number of enemies which vary in difficulty but they are nothing too overwhelming. The only exceptions are the Beast Patients, Chained Prisoner and Giant Huntsman. These three monsters are very strong, have larger health bars than other foes here and knowing how to deal with them can make or break your run.
The Old Yharnam area is one of the most challenging in Bloodborne. Here’s a guide to help you survive.

Head to the Cathedral Ward lamp and make a left. Go up the stairs, through a hallway and down another flight of stairs. Continue straight ahead, drop off the cliff and keep going forward until you reach a graveyard. As soon as you cross it head to your right into an archway which will lead you outside where you’ll find the gate leading to Old Yharnam.
