The Arena of Valor World Cup (AWC) returns on June 19, with the biggest prize pool in esports history. With a total of $4 million USD up for grabs, this is one tournament you won’t want to miss!

Arena of Valor World Cup (AWC) returns on June 19th. This year, the AWC will be hosted in South Korea and will feature a prize pool of $1 million.

This summer, the Arena of Valor World Cup (AWC) will make its formal comeback! The AWC 2021, organized by Tencent Games and Garena, will bring together the finest Arena of Valor (AOV) teams from across the globe on an international stage to fight for a share of a US$500,000 prize pool.

The AWC 2021 will be conducted online from June 19 to July 18, with the goal of continuing to provide interesting and competitive esports content to the AOV community while prioritizing the safety of all participants. The AWC 2021 will expose fans to an immersive virtual concept to give spectators a highly engaged experience, using the benefits of the digital medium.

Featuring the best competitive talent from across the globe.

The AWC 2021 will carry on AOV esports’ history of providing fans with unrivaled competitiveness in the mobile Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) genre. The best 16 teams from nine areas will compete in the AWC this year: Brazil, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mainland China, SMP (Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines), Thailand, and Vietnam. Thailand, Chinese Taipei, and Vietnam will each send three teams, while Brazil, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mainland China, and SMP will each send one squad — one from each region’s professional league.

The AWC 2021 will be divided into four stages:

  • The group stage will be place from June 19 through June 27.
  • The quarterfinals will be held from June 30 to July 4.
  • The semi-finals will be held on July 10th and 11th.
  • The Grand Final (AOV Day) will be held on July 18th.

The prize pool for the AWC 2021 will be US$500,000, making it one of the largest international esports prize pools for mobile MOBA esports events. The winner will get US$200,000 and the first runner-up will receive US$110,000 from the prize pool.

AOV esports are being honored.

The theme of the AWC in 2021 will be “Fight Together, Rise Together,” with the goal of uniting the AOV community in support of one another through these trying times. The theme also pays tribute to the devoted community of clubs, players, and fans that have supported AOV throughout the years. Arena of Valor recently celebrated its fourth anniversary of esports, with the inaugural Arena of Valor International Championship (AIC) taking place in 2017.

AOV esports tournaments are still among the most popular in mobile esports across the world. The AWC’s most recent edition in 2019 attracted over 74.5 million total views and over 855,000 peak concurrent viewers, respectively, a 126 percent and 36 percent increase over the 2018 edition hosted in the United States.

Enter the virtual realm.

The AWC 2021 will make full use of its new digital format, allowing spectators to enter an immersive virtual concept developed with a set of high-production technology. Fans may expect a completely virtual stage that will be rendered in real time. Despite the fact that almost all of the teams will be competing from different regions, technology will allow the AWC 2021 to bridge the geographical divides between the competitors, amplifying the nail-biting intensity of the live battles and allowing millions of fans all over the world to share in a unified experience.

Fans can also expect a plethora of high-quality material, which will expand on the content created for the online-only AIC 2020, which got a resounding reaction.

Make a note on your calendars.

The whole AWC 2021 will be streamed live online for fans all around the globe. All of the matches will be aired live on a variety of streaming platforms, with local commentary available in five languages: English, Bahasa Indonesia, Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese.

The arena of valor esports 2020 is the first time that the Arena of Valor World Cup has returned since its launch in 2017. The event will take place on June 19th and 20th.
