Block Annoying Messages For Good

Now that we’re in the age of smartphone addiction, more and more people are using messaging apps to communicate with friends and family. While this is a great way to stay connected, it can also be annoying when you’re constantly receiving messages from people you don’t want to talk to. Luckily, there’s now an easy way to block those people from messaging you. Keep reading for instructions on how to do this!

What are the different types of messages that can be blocked

There are two main types of messages that can be blocked: text messages and iMessages. If you want to block someone from sending you either type of message, you’ll need to do so in the Settings app.

How to block someone from texting or iMessaging you

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Scroll down and tap Messages.
  • Scroll down to the Blocked section.
  • Tap Add New and enter the person’s phone number or email address.
  • Tap Block Contact.

You can also block someone from texting or iMessaging you by opening a conversation with them and tapping their name at the top of the screen, then tapping Block this Caller.

How to know if someone has been blocked

If you’ve been blocked by someone, you’ll no longer be able to see their messages in the Messages app. If you try to send a message to them, it will say ‘Delivery Failed’ and they will not receive the message. You can also ask a mutual friend if they’ve been able to see the person’s messages. If they say they haven’t, it’s likely that you’ve been blocked.

What to do if you’ve been blocked

If you think you’ve been blocked, the best thing to do is to try and talk to the person who you think has blocked you. If they confirm that they have, there’s not much you can do except respect their decision and move on.

If you’re the one who has blocked someone, you can unblock them at any time by going to the Settings app and tapping Messages, then scrolling down to the Blocked section and tapping Edit. From here, you can tap the red minus button next to the person’s name and tap Unblock.

how to disable message blocking

There’s no way to disable message blocking entirely, but you can always unblock someone if you change your mind. Just go to the Settings app, tap Messages, scroll down to the Blocked section, and tap Edit. From here, you can tap the red minus button next to the person’s name and tap Unblock.

Are there any other ways to stop annoying messages

If you’re getting messages from someone who isn’t on your Contacts list, you can filter them out by going to the Settings app and tapping Messages. Then, scroll down and tap Filtered Unknown Senders. This will send any messages from unknown numbers straight to your voicemail, so you don’t have to deal with them. You can always add people to your Contacts list later if you want to start receiving their messages again.

Can you block specific contacts from calling or texting you

Yes, you can! If you want to block someone from calling or texting you, go to the Settings app and tap Phone. Then, scroll down to the Blocked section and tap Add New. From here, you can enter the person’s phone number or email address. You can also block people from calling or texting you by going to a conversation with them and tapping their name at the top of the screen, then tapping Block this Caller.

There are also some third-party apps that can block specific contacts from calling or texting you. However, we don’t recommend using these as they can be unreliable and may not work as intended.
